Groundwater study

 

The project will carry out a Groundwater Study of the Lough Carra catchment, focusing on groundwater and surface water connectivity. This study will include karst(1) feature(2) mapping, hydrological investigations, and tracer testing, and will help to confirm the catchment boundary more exactly, and to target project actions where they can be most effective.

 

(1) Karst – an area of land made up of Limestone

(2) Karst features – sinkholes, and underground streams.
